This kit includes the same ferrule and carbide shank used in my Scrawl. Choose between stainless steel and bronze ferrules. Available in small and large sizes.
The robust ferrules are turned from solid stainless steel or phosphor bronze round stock, not stamped from flimsy sheet metal. The enclosed end not only looks good, but provides more strength and support for the carbide shank than does the typical tube ferrule.
The carbide shank can be used to scribe woods, plastics, and metals, or to mark centers for drilling in wood.
The carbide shank has a 3/32" diameter, and is approximately 2" long. It can be used to scribe woods, plastics, and metals, or to mark centers for drilling in wood.
With a little care (do not drop it, do not pry with it, do not strike with it, and use light pressure on hard materials), this scribe will last for years. If the point ever dulls, it can easily be touched up with a diamond hone.
Small ferrule dimensions (these are the ones I use in my Scrawls):
Large ferrule dimensions:
Made in the USA. Fully warranted for one year.
"I’ve also noticed that Isaac is making some other tools as well and I have one of his carbide Scrawls that I’ve been using for everything from marking for screws holes to turning burrs in tight corners on my plane bodies."
