I accept USPS money orders, PayPal, and personal checks for orders that ship to a United States address. I can only accept payment thru PayPal for international orders.
After checking out, PayPal will email you a receipt for your payment. This email has an itemized breakdown of your purchase, and also serves as confirmation of your order. If you have received this email, your order has been received by me.
If you have any questions regarding a submitted order, please either forward the entire payment receipt or include the email address used for the payment.
Carrier: The vast majority of orders will be shipped through the USPS. UPS and FedEx shipping are available upon request, but will most likely incur additional charges. Please contact me before ordering for further information and rate quotes.
Lead times: Except where noted, most orders are sent out within a week of receiving them. I am, however, a one man show and there may be occasional delays due to heavy order volume or the demands of my children.
Order tracking: PayPal will send you a tracking number in an automated email when your order has shipped.
Package forwarding services: If you live outside of the United States, using a package forwarding service may reduce shipping costs, especially if you have orders from other companies that can be combined with mine. If you let me know that your package is being forwarded, I will place the packing slip on the outside of the package for ease of handling by the forwarding service.
International shipping: I am happy to ship internationally, so long as you understand that postage rates may be quite high.
The shipping charges DO NOT include any customs, duties, and handling or clearance charges that may be applied by your government to your order. I cannot tell you how much these charges will be, or whether they will be levied. Your Customs Office is much more knowledgeable on the topic (it is their livelihood, after all), and should be able to give you more information.
Shipping rates for the countries below will be automatically calculated at checkout. If shipping is not shown when you select your country, you will need to contact me before ordering for a shipping quote.

Effective immediately, I will no longer take in saws for sharpening or rehab. Making new tools now occupies so much of my time that I can no longer devote any of it to sharpening old saws.
If you would like to send your saws out for sharpening, I can personally recommend Matt Cianci's (thesawwright.com), Joe Federici's (secondchancesawworks.com), and Marv Werner's (he goes by MarvW over at woodworkerszone.com) saw sharpening services. Daryl Weir also does top-notch work.
Thank you to everyone who has sent me saws for sharpening over the years. It was truly a pleasure to work on and bring old saws back to life.
I will still sharpen saws that I have made, and have no plans to stop doing so.

If you are new to sharpening, begin with my article on saw tooth geometry. Once you understand those basics, take a look at Pete Taran's saw filing primer.
I am also in the beginning stage of putting together a comprehensive and illustrated guide to my filing process. It will take some time, however, as it is a rather large undertaking. Subscribe to my blog for the latest updates in the series.
