Disston 18" 10 ppi rip tenon backsaw (10-017-002) - $115 SOLD
Don't let the graceful looks of this Disston backsaw fool you - this is an absolute monster. Pick this saw up and the wood trembles with anticipation while the other saws avert their eyes and nestle a little deeper into the till. Saws this size just don't show up often.
The saw has been thoroughly cleaned and sharpened. The apple handle was removed, stripped, and refinished. There are no cracks and the horns are intact, with just a few minor dings, dents, and scratches that attest to its age. The saw nuts were lightly cleaned, and the blade sanded to remove any traces of rust and reduce friction. Although the plate has some rust stains, there is no pitting. After all of this, the teeth were reshaped, set, and sharpened. The only wood these teeth have seen is that used to ensure the saw runs clean and true. Suffice it to say, if you can handle it, this saw is ready for action.
