Atkins 26" 12 ppi cross cut saw (11-008-004) - $85 SOLD
This Atkins saw is a little different, having been made in Hamilton, Ontario by their Canadian division. The blade is dead straight. While it started life as a 10 ppi saw, someone in the past retoothed it with 12 ppi, which I have kept. The etch is long gone, so it is difficult to say which model this is. It most closely resembles their No. 65 pattern in the catalogs I have, but that is just a guess.
The saw has been thoroughly cleaned and sharpened. The handle (which looks to be made of cherry) was removed, stripped, and refinished. There are no cracks and the horns are intact, with just a few dings, dents, and scratches here and there. The saw nuts were lightly cleaned, and the blade sanded to remove any traces of rust and reduce friction. Although there is some very shallow pitting in a few areas, there is none at the toothline. After all of this, the teeth were reshaped, set, and sharpened. The only wood these teeth have seen is that used to ensure the saw runs clean and true. Suffice it to say, this saw is ready for action.

- Teeth are filed with 15° of rake, 25° of fleam, and about 15° sloped gullets.
