Sargent VBM 418C fore plane (11-030-018) - $60 SOLD

This is a beautiul example of a Sargent 418C. These planes are every bit the equal of Stanley's planes (the Bedrocks excepted), and this one will make an excellent user or shelf queen.

There is very little rust on this one, and just a couple small areas of pitting. The japanning is at 95% or so. The mahogany tote and beaded knob are in great shape, with just a few minor dings and dents.

The plane body is 18" long and 2 7/8" wide. The iron is 2 3/8" wide, and has 2 1/8" of life left in it. The bottom is corrugated, and has some rust staining and very light pitting near the toe and heel. Some light staining on the blade, cap iron, and lever cap. No pitting on the blade.
