Stanley Sweetheart No. 4 smoothing plane (93-603-037) - $45 SOLD

This plane has a few minor cosmetic issues, but is mechanically sound and will make a great user. The cosmetic flaws include paint drops on the body, a tattoo on the side, and a small chip out of the top of the tote. This chip is high enough that you can't feel it when you use it, so I didn't bother trying to repair it. The tote has a crack that has been repaired, but it was VERY well done, and only the faintest of lines remains as evidence. I daresay that if I did not point it out, you would never notice it. I did refinish the tote and knob with two coats of Tru-Oil and a coat of paste wax. They look and feel great.

There is about 1 5/8" of blade left, and you will want to lap the back and sharpen the bevel. The blade is ground with a pretty strong camber, which youmay want to remove before using. You can see the shaving it pulled after it was cleaned in the last picture.
