They don’t yet look like much, but this matching set should be something special. They are destined to live in England, with a gentleman whom I have had the pleasure of conversing with extensively.
The handles are walnut crotch, while the backs are stainless steel. The stainless steel is challenging to mill, and I have had more than a few failures along the way. I hope to offer it as an option on most or all of my saws in the near future, but need more practice milling it before committing fully.

Top to bottom: Fourteen inch sash saw, twelve inch Smith’s Key carcase saw, and ten inch dovetail saw.
Great selection of saws. They’re gonna be beautiful. Can’t wait to see them done with the backs polished up and those gorgeous walnut handles finished. I’m very partial to the Smith’s Key saws. Glad to see you making them. I have plans on making one myself. Drew it up to full size based on a print out of the Smith’s Key saw plate about 2 years ago, but haven’t gotten any further.
I have to admit that it took me a while to warm up to the Smith’s Key saws. The carcase saw looked so different than what I was used to seeing that I didn’t fully appreciate it until I started shaping the handle.
I plan on doing the rest of the saws in that plate at some point, but there are a lot of other things to catch up on first.
